When I started this, I honestly thought I'd have interesting things to write about on a frequent basis. As it turns out, I don't! I guess the fact that I barely have time to scratch my arse is not helping matters, but I think if I'm truthful with myself, I'm pretty lazy and waste a LOT of time!
I was hoping I'd have some impressive toys to rave about, but sadly that's not the case. I've not made any creations for some time. I have a suitcase FULL to the brim of vintage fabric and old linen waiting to be transformed into some child's favourite toy, it's sitting - collecting dust - in our spare bedroom/study.
I did (in a mini-fit of inspiration) manage to doodle 3 new designs. I have a giraffe (to me made from a wonderful orange bedspread) a cat (from fab green and white geometric printed sheets) and a rabbit (floral perhaps??) just WAITING to be finalised, cut, sewn and stuffed.... I did say WAITING didn't I???
Unfortnately, the lack of space, imminent renovation and aforementioned lack of time have been hindering my creativity of late.... I truly wish there were more hours in my day! Or less work... Less work would be good.
Perhaps I can rave here about my brilliant and recent Op Shop finds.
I managed to pick up (in the last 3 weeks) 2 Metallicus tops (one brown, one black - both are a wool mix) for $7 each. They are wonderfully stretchy and fit over my 20 week pregnant belly beautifully. I'm wearing one today in fact! Perfect for this horrid weather we seem to have at the moment. Sunny one minute, 15 degrees and raining the next!
I also bought:
A lovely grey Elwood cotton cardigan (I do love a good cardie), $7
A brand new (still with tags on it) Tommy Hilfiger Shirt for the boy, $20 but well worth it!
2 t shirts also for the boy, a yellow one with pockets on the front by Vicious Threads and another which I can't remember and come to think of it, haven't seen since it's purchase... but I quite liked it.... perhaps he didn't??
Not to mention the usual aray of lovely clothes for the girl. A gorgeous check summer skirt, knitted cotton dress, woollen Seed cardigan and an array of cotton Country Road tops.
I had a great new buy on Saturday too. I bought a Country Road dress from all my Christmas functions (the boys work dinner, my work Christmas Party and a wedding on 21/12). $249 reduced to $59. BAR-gin. I love it! It's silver and very pretty. I also bought new shoes, but they were full price so don't really justify any attention.
Right. So just as soon as we've finished the driveway and front path, put up the picket fence and completed the study-into-loungeroom transformation, I'll get right on to making those toys!

My crushing return
I just lost my ENTIRE post.
Here I was typing away. Creative juices positively flowing from my inner core when I vaguely recall hitting Ctrl A (which triggered a thought of "that usually means highlight all") and by the time I'd arisen from my creative stupor, BAM, it was all gone.
All gone, all gone, all gone.
I guess the short of it is I've decided to use this as a journal for my venture into soft toy making.
Forgot the fact that I forgot my password, email and login details for this blog...... an amusing story I was almost finished before I freaking deleted it! Never mind. Onwards and upwards they say.
More later. I'm completely deflated now. Freaking short cuts....

Welcome to the world of blog.....
I honestly don't have time for this, but we'll see how we go.
My record of diary keeping has been erratic at the best of times, so I have doubts about this being any good (or consistent!).
Where to start. Obviously not with the pile of work laying beneath my wrists as I type.....
Why choose 'Driving Miss Bee'. Well, plain old Miss Bee was 'unavailable' and then I thought, along the lines of Driving Miss Daisy (because sometimes my life feels like that) although I'm the one that does all the driving! Ironic hey.
Anyway, this is just a quick post to get me going. I will endeavour to return later and write something more.... meaningful and perhaps interesting.
